Discovery World (Grades 1st - 5th)
Known as Discovery World this ministry centers around fun, interaction, and adventure as your children are taught both biblical accounts and principle.
Is this place for you?
Discovery World is designed for 1st through 5th graders. In Discovery World the music & worship, the lesson structure, multi-media, and games are all designed for a generation that is growing up in a information overloaded, TV & internet driven society.
MC's
In Discovery World our MC is the key leader for that week's cirirculum and activities. The MCs are also instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects our Children's Church. Our MC's are pictured below. From left to right they are Mrs. Bridgette Walker, Children's Pastor Crystal Potter, Mrs. Angie Kassell, Mrs. Stacy Kempf sand Mr. Malcolm Cutway
Our Curriculum
Currently Discovery World uses a combination of its own activities and games in conjunction with Johnny Rogers. Discovery World has 2 goals: 1. To make a connection with the Children of Discovery so that they can impact their lives for the better. 2. To share the good news and create Godly habits in the children by sharing the gospel in a manner that they can understand and apply all while having a wonderful, fun-filled time.
Discovery Bucks
In Discovery World every child is given the opportunity to earn Discovery Bucks through attendance, games, and behavior. This currency allows them to purchase items from our "store." The Store is open every Sunday morning before services. This is the only time the store is open so be sure to get to church a few minutes early so that your child can take advantage of this reward system.
Rice Bowls
The Children of Discovery World will be gathering change in Rice Bowls to raise money for the hungry. What a wonderful opportunity to encourage the next generation as they make an impact on our world by giving. This year's rice bowl distribution launches November 6th and the bowls will be collected December 4th. D.W. will also have a booth in the back of the sanctuary November 13th and 20th to ensure our adult members are aware of the task and have the opportunity to help support the drive.
